Hyundai i20 Based All-New Urban Crossover SUV Hyundai Bayon Revealed Globally

Hyundai has revealed i20 based new urban crossover SUV named Hyundai Bayon. Hyundai i20 is a premium hatchback ruling the road from 2008 and still in demand. Hyundai launched a new model of the i20 in 2020. Earlier Hyundai revealed its luxury electric car Hyundai Ionic 5 worldwide.

Hyundai Bayon is based on this new i20 platform. The price of this crossover SUV will be between the price of the Hyundai i20 and the Hyundai Venue. Bayon is a fully feature-loaded spacious SUV with a luxury interior and good ground clearance. Hyundai has added features like arrow-shaped front headlamps and rear lights, digital cluster, and centre touchscreen, Bose premium sound, lane following assist, NSCC, FCA, and bluelink connectivity.

Hyundai Bayon has been revealed with a 3-cylinder 1.0L Turbo GDi Petrol Engine and a 4-cylinder 1.2L MPi Petrol Engine.

Hyundai Bayon Exterior

The exterior of the Hyundai Bayon is very slick and eyecatching. The front grill seems very appealing and its large size gives a pure crossover SUV look to this vehicle. The design of front headlamps and tail lamps is inspired by an arrow shape. The LED DRLs above the headlamp make a strong presence even in daylight and provides a sporty look to this crossover SUV.

Tail lamps are all LED and a red line of LED lights connects both tail lamps horizontally and it looks very decent. The rear brake light is wider and the strong C pillars of both sides make the presence bold.

Hyundai Bayon Interior

The interior of the Hyundai Bayon crossover SUV is very spacious and modern. As per the Hyundai:

Hyundai has focused to maximize the boot space and a best-in-segment higher seating position in the Bayon. The 10.25-inch digital cluster in front of the driver and another 10.25-inch centre touchscreen with split-screen function leads this SUV to best-in-segment. The centre touchscreen offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity so that one can connect their Android phone and enjoy their phone functions on the big centre screen.

The horizontal smooth blades on the dashboard having air-vents within it enhance the look of this SUV and the airplane landing gear-inspired gear knob provides the feel of a luxury cockpit.

With the 411 liters of boot space, Hyundai indicated that Bayon is not only a crossover SUV it has the best cargo capacity also. For a comfortable journey, Hyundai Bayon offers 1072mm legroom for the front passengers and 882mm legroom for the rear passengers while the headroom for the driver and co-drivers are 993mm and rear-seat passengers are 977mm.

For premium sound quality and enjoyment, Hyundai Bayon is decorated with 8 numbers of the Bose sound with an additional subwoofer.

Hyundai offers Bluelink App car connectivity 5 years of free subscription so that one can enjoy the engine start/stop, voice control, route planning, parking info, automatic climate control like advanced features.

Hyundai Bayon comes with a 0.25-inch digital cluster in front of the driver and another 10.25-inch centre touchscreen with a split-screen function.

Hyundai Bayon Engine

Hyundai Bayon presented two engine options 1.0 litre Turbo-GDi petrol engine and a 1.2 litre MPi petrol engine.

The 3-cylinder 1.0 litre T-GDi engine is given to feel the power of the Bayon which generates a peak power of 120 PS at 6000 rpm and powerful torque of 171.6 Nm at 1500 rpm. A 48V mild-hybrid technology supports additional torque during acceleration and Hyundai iMT technology boosts the more power as well as the fuel efficiency of this engine with minimum emissions.

Another 4-cylinder 1.2 litre MPi petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission triggers the maximum power of 84 PS at 600 rpm and maximum torque of 117.6 Nm at 4000 rpm.

Hyundai Bayon Safety Features

It will come with the best-in-class safety rating like other Hyundai cars and SUVs. Hyundai Bayon will be equipped with Hyundai Hyundai SmartSense safety features like Lane Following Assist (LFA), Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA).

Bayon will come with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty with Euro 6d emission standards.

Hyundai Bayon Price

The price of the Hyundai Bayon is not revealed yet. In India, Hyundai Bayon will be priced between the Hyundai Venue and Hyundai Creta.
