Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: New Changes
- Himalayan received major changes on the front side. The instrument cluster is updated with much-needed tripper navigation inspired by the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. The tripper navigation guides the way during a ride through mobile device connectivity. We all know that Himalayan is famous for long routes and tough terrain riding, this update will support a biker greatly.
- The front windshield is updated with a wider and longer one. The new windshield is on a little bit lean side of the rider.
- Both the front metal frame rod is smaller now so that you will get more space for your legs during a ride.
- The newly designed seat is more comfortable than before while seat height is as same as it was in the previous version.
- The rear luggage carrier is a little bit small and a new metal plate introduced on it to support luggage with ease. Royal Enfield's official weight limit on it is 7 kg but it can sustain more weights but the official recommendation is 7 kg.
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: Engine and Specifications
The gear train of the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 comes with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. Though gear shifting is smooth, a 6-speed gearbox misses out in this adventure motorcycle. The smooth clutch system is a wet multi-plate type. Slipper-clutch is not added to this motorcycle to make it affordable.
Royal Enfield Himalayan enabled with electric start, electronic fuel injection. A semi-synthetic SAE 15W50 API SL grade and above JASO MA2 engine oil is recommended to use in this motorcycle.
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: Chassis and Brakes
The front brake of Himalayan is a 300mm large disc brake having a 2-piston floating caliper system while the rear brake is strengthened by a 240mm disc brake with a single-piston floating caliper system. A dual-channel Anti Braking System (ABS) is added to conquer the tough terrain like Leh-Ladakh. You can switch off the ABS facility of the rear wheel to normal mode during a need like on the mud roads. Dual-channel ABS can be switch to single-channel ABS in this motorcycle.
Though Royal Enfield managed a good braking system to its Himalayan BS6, it takes a little longer distance to control during an initial triple-digit speed because of its heavyweight.

Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: Suspension and Tyres
The front tyre is 90mm wide and of 21-inch spoked wheel while the rear tyre is 120mm wide and 17-inch in size. Spoke wheels made this motorcycle a true adventure or off-roading motorcycle because spoke wheels are stronger than alloy wheels and more flexible to absorb the shock. Spoke wheel supports the rider and motorcycle both from sudden shock on tough roads.
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: Electricals and Dimensions
From the dimension point of view, larger ground clearance is always expected in an adventure touring motorcycle. Royal Enfield has done a great job in it, Himalayan comes with a 220mm large ground clearance which is perfect for tough terrain. The total weight of this motorcycle is 199 kg.
