Engine
KTM 250 Aventure is fitted out with a 4-stroke liquid-cooled 248.8cc double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 4-valve engine having a balancer shaft. The 348.8cc liquid-cooled engine generates a maximum power of 22 kW and 24 Nm peak torque. KTM has made this bike as per the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) standard of the Indian Government. Two catalytic converters and a fuel tank ventilation (EVAP) system have been added to stop the direct fuel emission by the fuel tank to the environment which controls the engine's emission perfectly.
The engine of the KTM 250 Adventure is based on the world's one of the most reliable motorcycle KTM 1290 Super Adventure. The 72mm bore piston of this adventure motorcycle is DLC coated and cooled by an oil spray nozzle for extra durability which will be better for tough terrains.
The engine is connected with a 6-speed sequential gearbox and the slipper clutch for the smooth gear shifting, power-saving, and safety of the rider. The electronic fuel injection system of the BOSCH company is connected to the engine for better fuel supply and smooth throttle response.
Chassis and Suspension
The powder-coated steel trellis frame of the KTM 250 Adventure is inspired from the KTM 450 Rally which is tough, strong and delicate for true offroading. The rear side subframe of this adventure motorcycle is fixed to the mainframe and can be removed by opening only four easy screws. The die-cast, open-lattice type swingarm of this motorcycle is very rigid and durable.
This adventure motorcycle is decorated with a WP Apex suspension in the front and rear side. The front suspension is a WP Apex 43mm upside-down (USD) fork-type having a170mm of travel. In the rear side, a cutting-edge WP Apex 170mm travel shock absorber associated with adjustable spring preload to adjust the load as per the rider's load requirement. The triple clamp handlebar with adjustable height facility makes this mechanical run machine more versatile in the segment.
Brake and Tyre
The braking technicals are very appreciable in this bike. KTM 250 Adventure is furnished with a 2-channel anti braking system (2-channel ABS) by BOSCH. The high-quality BYBRE brakes with a large 320mm disc in the front and 230mm disc in the rear side make this bike capable for all terrains. A 4-piston radially mounted front calliper and single-piston rear calliper added on the discs for an effective braking experience.
KTM has been used the MRF Mogrip Meteor FM-2 tubeless tyre in this both wheels of this bike. The front tyre is 100mm wide with 19-inch pressed steel alloy wheel and the rear tyre is 130mm wide having a 17-inch pressed steel alloy wheel.
Ergonomics and Comfort
An easily removable seat is available in this bike having small storage space within it. The front footpegs are wide and covered with a rubber covering for easy long rides. A rider can use the windshield of different sizes as per his requirement.
The seat height and ground clearance of the KTM 250 Adventure are 858mm and 200mm respectively. Higher seat height and ground clearance help on offroading. The 250cc powerful engine of this bike consumes fuel at the rate of 3.1 Liter/100 Kilometers. The dry weight of this run machine is 156 Kilogram only. The chain of this bike is a 520 X-ring chain which durable and provides longer life to the bike.
The instrument console of the KTM 250 Adventure is an all-digital console having a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, clock, and low fuel level warning lamp. The DRL winkers and tail light is LED in this motorcycle. The halogen type headlamp is present in this bike. A LED headlamp would be better for this adventure motorcycle. The offroad ABS helps the rider during tough terrains by eliminating the use of the ABS.
Price and Colors
The ex-showroom (Delhi) price of the KTM 250 Adventure starts from INR 2.45 Lakh. Which is around INR 0.56 Lakh cheaper than KTM 390 Adventure in India.
