How to Increase Bike Mileage Easily: 10 Simple Tips

In the current situation, fuel prices are hovering very rapidly day by day. The time has come when the maximum two-wheeler users are asking how to increase the bike mileage. The direct answer for improving bike mileage is to reduce fuel consumption in the bike. Some are serious about saving fuel but confuse about how to get the best mileage on the bike. Sometimes, the riders feel a sudden drop in the bike mileage because of the change in riding habits of their run machine. I want to convey some essential simple tips through this post that will save the fuel easily, increase bike mileage, and prevents your money wastage on fuel. Use natural resources correctly. It is limited. Wastage of fuel, as well as money, will be troubled you directly or indirectly. Proper riding not only saves the fuel, but it also increases the life and efficiency of your motorcycle. I am sharing here some useful guidelines in this post. Read the post, apply it on your bike, and start a great ride with an improved bike mileage.

How to Increase Bike or Motorcycle Mileage Easily: 10 Simple Tips

1. We should always drive our bike at a constant speed. Unnecessary acceleration and braking degrade the fuel economy of a bike. Generally, the average speed of the bike lies between 40 kilometers per hour to 70 kilometers per hour.

2. Don't ride the bike in the low gear for a long time it will consume more fuel. Riding a bike with proper gear is very compulsory to reduce two-wheeler fuel consumption. Suppose you are riding a bike in top gear at low speed, it will consume more fuel. Though very high speed in the top gear will also consume more fuel. So, the right gear at the right speed is very necessary to increase the bike mileage.

3. On-time servicing, oil changing, and air filter cleaning are come within a prime requirement to save the fuel. Proper engine tuning is the second necessary task to be done during servicing. If your bike is equipped with a carburetor then the carburetor setting for best mileage should be done during servicing by the mechanic. In fuel injection, injector cleaning is an essential task around every 10,000 kilometers for the same.

4. Always maintain correct tyre pressure. It boosts the mileage of the bike and save the tyres from wear out and burst as the low air will wear out the tyres quickly while more air can burst the tyres.

5. If your chain and sprocket are not clean and jammed with rust and mud, it will give an additional burden to the engine and the transmission losses between the engine transmission shaft and the wheel will be increased which results in to increase in fuel consumption. So always clean the chain and adjust it correctly to reduce the power losses.

6. Don't press the brake without the need. Some riders are applying partial brake frequently without a reason which increases fuel consumption. You should avoid unnecessary braking to reduce the fuel consumption in the bike which will return you the better mileage.

7. Some use clutch excessively during riding. You should avoid unnecessary disengagement of the clutch while riding your bike. It disconnects the engine power transmission to the main power shaft which increases the power losses.

8. Regular parking fo bike under the direct contact of the sun (especially in the summer) originates evaporation of the petrol which reduces the mileage of your bike. Always park your bike in the parking shed. Avoid parking on the direct sunlight.

9. You should avoid riding at higher rpm in the market or busy traffic. At traffic halts, "off" the engine ignition, if the halt is more than 30 seconds. Always try to maintain a minimum variation of the speed in the busy traffic to save fuel.

10. Try to clean the air fins through proper washing if your bike has air cooling. As dirt and dust on the engine fins create problems to proper cooling of the engine and mileage gets to drop. In oil cooling, check the coolant level, clean the radiator properly, and change the coolant when if it needs.

I think you have got a picture of the bike mileage depends on what. Fuel quality is also a major concern, always fill the tank from a trusted petrol pump if possible. Use the API or ACEA certified engine oil recommended by the company in your owner user book provided by the company. Please follow these suggestions and reduce the fuel consumption of your bike, it will directly magnify the mileage of your bike.
