Mahindra Thar has been unveiled on 15th August 2020. This all-new Thar has a legendary off-roading capability and a smooth ride on the road. The 1st generation Mahindra Thar has been considered into the top 10 SUVs of India. It was purely built for adventure or tough terrain. Now, this all-new 2nd generation Mahindra Thar can do what can any other SUV does without losing its soul. Mahindra Thar 2020 can use as an all-day vehicle. You can go to the city on weekdays and can also go on an adventurous journey during the weekend. New Mahindra Thar comes with a 4-wheel drive 2.2L diesel engine and 2.0L petrol engine. All the modern safety feature has been given in this SUV. 220mm unladen ground clearance and 650mm water wading depth (similar to half of a common man) leads this Thar from an SUV to an adventure SUV. The Interior of the Mahindra Thar is re-designed and washable with 7-inch all weather-resistant touchscreen infotainment system. This legendary Thar is now convertible as an option. The New Thar front fascia is quite similar to the old one with LED DRLs. The backlight is also LED with the Thar icon on it. The new asymmetrical wheel arches, all-new front, and rear suspension, multicolor TFT MID cluster, retro-inspired toggle switches, round telephoto lens-inspired Air Vents, power steering, power windows, remote/keyless entry, rugged dual-tone bumpers, complete black interior with silver and silver chrome finish give this vehicle the modern feel. 

Mahindra Thar has great off-roading capability as well as superior on-road ride and handling. You can drive this beast in the jungle, river clay, sand, and on tough terrains also.

The new electronic brake locking differential makes this vehicle safer on tough roads as it will stop the wheel if the rpm difference of front wheels increases more than 60 rpm and transfer the power to the lower rpm wheel.

This flagship vehicle of Mahindra & Mahindra has been loaded with all-new powerful Diesel and petrol engines. The Diesel engine is 2.2L mHawk 130 DE which generates 300 Nm torque and 130 BHP power while the Petrol engine is 2.0L mStallion 150 TGDi turbo which generates 320 Nm torque and 150 BHP power. The engines are equipped with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions and capable to reach 150-160 kmpl easily on the road.

The chassis of the new Thar is Mahindra's proven 3rd generation chassis. The front suspension is independent while the rear suspension is a multi-link suspension. The rear seat is optional as front-facing or side-facing seats. 

All seats are sporty and the front seats are equipped with height and lumbar adjustment. The rear front-facing seats are adjustable with a 50:50 split facility. All the interiors are washable. Roof-mounted speakers look so impressive and unique in the interior of the new Thar.

From the safety point of view ABS, EBD, dual airbags, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control, built-in roll cage with 3-points seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat mount on rear seat added in this SUV. The bonut is long and strong. 

The new Mahindra Thar is wider than before. The new 255/65-R18 all-terrain radial tyres are 255mm wide. This vehicle can run on expressways to Himalaya. The steering is mounted with weather-resistant switches, mobile phone connectivity, audio control, phone control, and cruise control.

Mahindra has introduced 1st time ever in an SUV ''Adventure Statistics on Touchscreen'' feature with customizable gauges, G-monitor, compass wheel angle, torque, gear indicator, speed, and power flow to all wheels.
