We all know that Electric Vehicles are the future of the world. Automobile industries of all whole world are launching every day a new vehicle. Bajaj Auto has recently launched its old-time famous Chetak (during 1972-2005) with all new look and features as Bajaj Chetak Electric. At the same time, TVS Motor has launched TVS iQube also. Both are electric scooter with good range in a single charge, water-resistant of IP67 rating, geofencing alert, app connectivity, GPS locator, reverse park assist, all-LED headlamps, illuminated under-seat space, eco mode, and power mode, premium material, tubeless tyres, and having bold look with a lot of features. I shall cover the all features of these two in this blog so that you can choose the best as per your requirement. Both are electric vehicles with premium feeling and powerful pick up having a good range per single charge.

Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube: Performance

Bajaj Chetak is powered by a 4.08 kW motor, Li-ion battery (48V/63.3Ah) having a range of 95 kilometers per charge while TVS iQube is powered by a 4.4 kW motor, Li-ion high strength aluminum extrusion water, and dust resistant casing having a 75-kilometer range per charge. You can easily ride on congested roads as well as on uphills roads with these two scooters.
 
The top speed of iQube is more than Chetak. Bajaj Chetak achieves a top speed of 60 kmph and TVS claims a top speed of 78 kmph for iQube. TVS iQube is powered by a little bit more powerful motor than Bajaj Chetak. Considering 30 kilometers per day travel, you can travel 2 days hassle-free without any tension of battery charging from both scooters.  

Chetak and iQube both scooters have a battery warranty of 3 years / 50,000 kilometers. The owner can save around 60,000 INR by riding an average of 30 km per day in 5 years compared to petrol scooters. TVS iQube accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph speed in 4.2 seconds.

Both scooters get 100% charge in 5 hours with a 5A power outlet. iQube comes with a dedicated home charging the unit with 1 hour of charging it travels 15-20 km. Chetak comes with a charging unit in the glove box and it travels 25 km with 1 hour of charging (80% charge in 3.5 hours).

In Chetak there is a dedicated reverse button to park this bike easily while iQube also holds a dedicated reverse Q-parking assist.

Chetak and iQube come with tubeless 12-inch alloy wheels as standard having a disc brake in the front wheel and drum brake in the rear-wheel so braking is good enough to control even at high speed. Bajaj claimed that Chetak can stop from 60 km to 0 km within 2.8 meters after applying brakes. The weight of iQube is 118 kg (peak wheel torque 140 Nm) which gives the feeling of riding like IC engine scooters.    

Chetak equipped with single-sided front suspension and mono-shock suspension in the rear while iQube comes with telescopic suspension in the front and a hydraulic twin-tube shock absorber in the rear.

Bajaj and TVS both have introduced intelligent regenerative braking systems in Chetak and iQube which converts kinetic energy into electrical energy that can be used to go further and maximize battery charge while you ride. Both scooters are IP67 rated ( Ingress Protection 67 rating is identical to standardize the protection level against the intrusion of solids and liquids into the mechanical and electrical wall/hoop i.e. scooters motor and electricals are water and dustproof).

The headlamp and tail lamps of Chetak and iQube are LED. Chetak introduced an eye-catching, horseshoe-like shape with daytime running light while iQube has a crystal clear LED headlamp. 

Bajaj has introduced LED sequential blinkers in tail lamps, they light up one by one in the direction of your turn which grabs attention and looks pretty from the rear especially on turning. iQube has an all-LED headlamp which also looks very pretty.

These two electric scooters are furnished with a lot of modern features which enticed buyers to choose an electric vehicle instead of an IC engine-powered vehicle. 

Chetak and iQube both have enough under-seat storage to keep helmets or other essential things having lights in them. iQube has a Q-USB convenient charging port with light in the under-seat storage and Chetak has an illuminated glove box with a USB port for mobile charging.

Bajaj Chetak LCD instrument cluster holds the watch, speedometer, range, odometer, battery indicator, neutral light having a black and white theme. It has a Chetak application on the Google play store to connect you all time with scooter's performance, GPS navigation, geofencing alert (always know the whereabouts of your scooter), anti-theft notification, unauthorized access notification, accident notification, parking location, and helpful riding tips from the connected device.

TVS iQube has 5 inch TFT instrument cluster that holds rich information like speedometer, average speed, speed range, trip meter, odometer, battery symbol, battery percentage, hazard warning switch, Bluetooth connectivity symbol, on-screen GPS navigation assist, message, and incoming call indicator on the instrument cluster.

TVS iQube App is available on the Google play store (TVS SmartXConnect) app, it has charge status on the app, navigation assist, crash/fail alert, live tracking, over-speed alert, last parked location assist, geofencing alert, smart vehicle statistics like top speed, CO2 saving, average speed, total distance covered, range, nearest service station locator, total running hours, best 0-30 kmph indicator, all-time eco mode, and power mode travel percentage.

Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube: Pricing

Bajaj Chetak Electric scooter is launched with two models Premium (top model) and Urbane (low model having drum brakes in both wheels) in six colors. Bajaj Chetak Urbane's on-road price is around Rupees 1.12 Lakh while the on-road price of the Bajaj Chetak Premium model is around Rupees 1.27 Lakh.

TVS iQube is launched with a single color currently having Rupees 1.15 Lakh on-road price. 

Conclusion:

While both electric scooters are best but if you are a lover of old-time Bajaj Chetak and want premium build quality, quality electric switches, bold look from front as well as rear and long-distance capacity per travel then go for Bajaj Chetak Electric.

If you want to buy a more powerful electric scooter with all the modern smart features as described above then you should buy TVS iQube. The top speed of iQube is more (78 kmph) than Chetak (60 kmph). iQube's instrument cluster is more premium and loaded with great features while riding like phone message indicator, incoming call indicator, and GPS navigator.
